Update Regarding Winter Storm Grayson – Wednesday, January 3, 2018
As of noon on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, our area continues to be under a hard freeze warning. Please continue to drip water to reduce the likelihood that your pipes may freeze. Our volume of stored water can keep up with this demand. We also have backup power at well pumping stations.
Dripping an outside spigot may help avoid the possibility of a sanitary sewer overflow in areas that are affected by a power outage as our sanitary sewer pumping stations may not be in operation. Water restrictions are not in place system-wide but you are encouraged to reduce water consumption that contributes to flow into the sanitary sewer system.
According to the National Weather Service, rains will taper off as the weather system passes around 1:00 pm today. We will continue to see freezing temperatures over the next two days. Afternoon temperature tomorrow is expected to be in the area of 41 degrees, at best.
As a result of these conditions, the BGJWSC administrative staff office will tentatively remain closed until noon on Thursday, January 4. Staff are now responding to service outages. If this situation escalates, we will post an update on our website.
