Pending Sewer Connections Paid Prior to July 7th Clarification

The following statement is being posted immediately following our Commission meeting this afternoon to clarify an incorrect rumor that individuals who had paid their tap fees prior to July 7, 2016 would not be allow to connect to the sewer system:

This information is not correct. JWSC will honor the commitment we made when we accepted this payment. The cutoff date to connect to sanitary sewer basins that have been identified as operating beyond their safe, designed capacity was established at our public meeting on July 7, 2016.

We are aggressively seeking solutions, both long term and short term, to resolve the capacity problems. As each basin is repaired and is capable of taking on additional customers, we will post that information on our website as well as make contact with anyone that has requested or will request connection to one of the overcapacity basins.
