Lane Closure for Repairs – 1600 Block of MLK Blvd – May 17, 2021

In order to perform sewer gravity main repairs in the area, one lane of the 1600 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd in Brunswick, between G and F Street, will be closed to thru traffic. The lane closure will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17 and last until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Homeowner access will be maintained but all other traffic should be prepared to take another route to avoid increased traffic and potential delays.

As a function of routine maintenance funded by our operational budget, this replacement of a section of collapsing 8 inch vitrified clay pipe buried 6 feet below the paved surface is critical to avoid the potential for sewer service backups and sinkholes in the roadway.
