Emergency Lane Closure in Frederica/Demere Roundabout – Wednesday, March 8, 2017

Update as of 5:15 pm: Thanks to all for your patience during our construction. The main break was repaired under pressure, helping keep services maintained through the busiest part of the day.

As of 9:45 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, an emergency lane closure is necessary in the roundabout at the intersection of Frederica Rd and Demere Rd on St. Simons Island. This morning, a citizen alerted us to water running down the street and a preliminary inspection indicated that a crew will need to excavate in the area to determine the source of the leak. At this time, we are unable to confirm whether or not service will be affected.

For the safety of our crews, the outside lane of the roundabout will be unavailable, likely in the section adjacent to Southern Soul Barbecue’s front parking spots. Please expect delays and make every effort to take another route, if possible.
