Planned Water Outage for Storm Drain Relocation – Georgia Street to Floyd Street on SSI – Wednesday, October 18, 2023
Attention
Planned Water Outage
Update 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 19: Due to emergency response requiring crew members in Brunswick on Wednesday, this project has been rescheduled for Friday, October 20.
In order for BGJWSC and contract staff to complete maintenance upgrades and main relocation as part of the storm drainage project managed by Glynn County, water service will be intermittently unavailable or in low pressure from at or about 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 for service connections between and including Georgia Street to Floyd Street on St Simons Island. Adjacent streets may also be impacted in order to isolate water mains during the repairs.
Once service has been restored, a precautionary boil water advisory may be issued until 24 hours following the last point of repair. The planned isolation and controlled shutdown procedures may deem a precautionary boil water advisory unnecessary. Please subscribe to receive emergency updates via text message, email, or phone call if this advisory becomes necessary.
